AUDIENCE
(By now, most of the audience has recognised the opening bars of “Also Sprach Zarathustra” by Strauss.*)
FULLYCHARGED
(Gobsmacked, FULLYCHARGED is thinking to himself “this is what I want to do with my life.” He rises to his feet.)
AUNTSYLVIE
(Sitting next to FULLYCHARGED, AUNTSYLVIE quickly places one hand on his shoulder, and with a downward force helps him, in no uncertain terms, to sit down properly!)
ORCHESTRA
(There is already palpable relief on the faces of the girls playing the violins and the cellos. They’re feeling more at ease now that the start is unfolding nicely. Once more, MISSFORTUNE guides the marines and the orchestra through the solemn-modest-lively cycle.)
ANGRYBARD
(Ignoring the sheet music in front of him, and without making any further eye contact with anybody, ANGRYBARD focusses only on his drums. He delivers the second crescendo perfectly.)
VOLUNTEERS
(At the far end of the hall, CANDICRUSH and WALKER are both on their feet, looking above the heads of the audience, but they’re a little too far away to see ANGRYBARD clearly. Thinking that this is impressive stuff, they’re wondering how long MISSFORTUNE and her ORCHESTRA can maintain this performance? Surely it’s not the full 30 minute rendition?)
