Tyler Henderson AKA DoveTail is one of the nicest orphan boys in the Noble Coliseum. Until recently, he was very enthusiastic about woodwork (especially dovetail joints), but discovered that sawdust was causing him health problems. Subsequently he was diagnosed with asthma, and has given up making furniture. Now he does simple wooden designs for backgammon cases, using a craft knife to cut pieces into elaborate geometric shapes. He also enjoys watercolour painting, doing portraits and landscapes.
He is a gentle, likeable character, who doesn’t want to get involved with the troublesome orphan brothers MegaBite and ShortFuse.
Fourteen year old DoveTail would like to work out how to become close friends with ClaireVoyant or RoughDi, but he’s shy. His best friend at school is AngryBard, and this InCrowd are all in the same year group at Broadland Park High School – in Book 2, they’re all in Year 9.
DoveTail also gets on with much older and much younger children. Hayley is a keen artist too, and in spite of their age difference they will often be seen working side by side in the art room.
