The BlackCircle became the most powerful group, because they had the ships and the weapons that they\u2019d poached when the Royal Navy collapsed.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe ships didn\u2019t last very long though, because they had diesel engines, and there was no fuel. From what I know the next thing that happened was an internal conflict in the BlackCircle, and then it split in two. One group wanted to keep the metal Royal Navy ships and stayed in Boot. The other group embraced traditional sailing ships and moved to Wally to set up the RedCircle.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd that\u2019s how we ended up with two sets of pirates at the mouth of The Merse!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPretty good,\u201d says Vortex , \u201cexcept for the bit about Schr\u00f6dinger!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe was a Royal Navy rating in his younger days.
