NutJob and KristalClear both see it, and at the same time the wolf sees them. Immediately it growls. An audible, distressing growl, but not excessively loud, not the sort of menacing \u201cprepare to die\u201d growl that might be expected from a wolf.<\/p>\n NutJob doesn\u2019t know the difference though, a growl is a growl, and he is petrified, absolutely rooted to the spot. He can\u2019t even turn and run despite the fact that his brain is telling him to. It\u2019s saying to him, \u201crun, save yourself,\u201d but he doesn\u2019t, because standing between him and the wolf is KristalClear. He can\u2019t abandon her.<\/p>\n He\u2019s also thinking, \u201cand she called me Dave<\/em>, these days she hardly ever calls me Dave<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n The adrenalin surge has hit KristalClear as well.
