\nof the Blind Men and the Elephant<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nIn India the six wise men,
\nAll blind since birth we are told,
\nCame upon the elephant,
\nA puzzle for them all to behold.<\/p>\n
\nThe first reached out and placed his hand,
\nUp and down and all along one side,
\nIt\u2019s strong just like a wall he said,
\nBoth high and exceedingly wide.<\/p>\n
\nAnother found the pointy bit,
\nAnd overcome with fear,
\nWithdrew his hand, from the tip of a tusk,
\nSaying, I think that I just touched a spear.<\/p>\n
\nIt\u2019s not so sharp said number three,
\nIt wriggles, it writhes, and it twists,
\nI think it must be a snake he said,
\nI can\u2019t hold it, it\u2019s hurting my wrists.<\/p>\n
\nThis is no snake, it\u2019s fatter than me,
\nGreat presence, great strength and great girth,
\nI think we must be touching a tree,
\nSoundly rooted right here to the earth.<\/p>\n
