Grocers and merchants for what they sell, doctors and lawyers in exchange for the services they provide.<\/p>\n Mr Rafone likes to remind people of Darwin\u2019s theory of evolution. Those who are the most responsive to change are the ones who are most likely to survive. The population of Wolfland thrives, because it has adapted to a new world order. It\u2019s not about \u201csurvival of the fittest\u201d, it\u2019s about being \u201cresponsive to change\u201d. Darwin didn\u2019t say \u201csurvival of the fittest\u201d until the fourth edition of his book, and it was only in that, because Herbert Spencer had kept badgering him.<\/p>\n \u201cYou adapt or die,\u201d says Mr Rafone, \u201ceven Benet has adapted and earns a living in spite of his odd lifestyle.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIf you have no work, for example if you\u2019re a child, or you\u2019re a homemaker, then somebody in the family will have to make enough money to look after everybody else in the household.
